The Hisway roofing standard.

The steps we follow on every roof replacement. This process is what lets Hisway offer a 50-year warranty against defects resulting from our craftsmanship.

  1. Protect the propertyPersonal items moved, and landscaping, A/C units, siding, windows, doors and grass covered with shields and breathable tarps.
  2. Down to the deckingOld shingles and components torn off down to the decking, which is inspected, with damaged wood replaced.
  3. Build the roof systemIce & Water Shield, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, starter shingles, premium architectural shingles, ridge cap, ridge vent and GAF MasterFlow metal pipe boots.
  4. Clean up and walk throughRoof and gutters blown off, nails collected with magnet wheels, and a final inspection and walkthrough with the homeowner.

  1. Move personal items away from the house.
  2. Set up Shrub Shields, decking and breathable mesh tarps to protect all landscape beds.
  3. Set up A/C Shields and breathable tarps to allow airflow but keep debris out of the units.
  4. Use Catch-All poles, decking and breathable tarps to protect siding, windows and doors.
  5. Protect the grass around the home with breathable tarps.
  6. Tear off existing shingles and components all the way down to the decking.
  7. Inspect the decking for holes or rotten wood.
  8. Remove any damaged decking and replace as necessary.
  9. Install Ice & Water Shield along valleys, flashing and components.
  10. Install synthetic underlayment to protect the remaining decking.
  11. Install drip edge along eaves and rakes to prevent water damage to fascia.
  12. Install starter shingles along eaves and rakes to prevent blow-offs.
  13. Install premium architectural shingles.
  14. Install ridge cap shingles at hips and ridges.
  15. Install ridge vent to increase attic ventilation.
  16. Install GAF MasterFlow metal pipe boot flashing.
  17. Blow debris off the roof and gutters.
  18. Clean up all debris and nails from the property using magnet wheels.
  19. Perform a final inspection and walkthrough with the client to ensure complete satisfaction.
